Some Of The Key Responsibilities Include
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Product Engineers, and business stakeholders to design, build, and operate scalable, discoverable data products and an analytics warehouse.
- Design, develop, and launch reliable, cost-efficient batch and streaming pipelines that are modular, testable, idempotent, and versioned.
- Own the full lifecycle of data solutions: requirements gathering, design docs, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, documentation, and ongoing operations.
- Create reusable, well-modeled datasets and feature/serving tables; establish and enforce data modeling and naming standards.
- Implement robust data quality practices, lineage, and data contracts to protect downstream consumers.
- Build and maintain orchestration and CI/CD for data (Airflow/Cloud Composer, Terraform, Git-based workflows, automated testing).
- Write clean, well-documented code; lead and participate in cross-team code reviews; mentor peers and set engineering standards.
- Plan and deliver roadmaps; proactively communicate risks and status; ensure timely, incremental delivery.
- Define and operate on-call, incident response, and reliability practices; measure and improve availability with SLIs/SLOs.
- Evaluate and introduce new tooling and best practices; drive continuous improvement in our stack and engineering culture.
- Work with third-party vendors and partners to exchange data securely and reliably: define schemas and contracts, establish integrations (APIs, SFTP, webhooks, managed file transfers, SaaS connectors), manage credentials and access, and monitor delivery and data quality.
About You
- Minimum 5 years of professional data engineering experience, including designing and operating production-grade data platforms.
- Expert SQL and strong Python; deep experience with ETL/ELT patterns and pipeline frameworks.
- Proven experience with Airflow and dbt; hands-on with Terraform and Git-based CI/CD.
- Strong data modeling and warehousing expertise. Familiarity with streaming concepts (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka) is a plus.
- Practical experience on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, IAM) and/or AWS with Redshift; ability to reason about cost/performance trade-offs.
- Solid understanding of security, privacy, and governance: RBAC/IAM, encryption at rest/in transit, secrets management, PII handling, and familiarity with PDPA/GDPR.
- Knowledge of APIs and analytical databases.
- Hands-on experience in batch/real-time data integration and processing.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Some nice-to-haves!
- A general understanding of venture financing and investments, especially in the private capital market and/or alternative assets space.
- Ability to work with basic financial terms
- An appreciation for experimentation and designing systems/processes that accommodate business and technical agility
- Working experience in both startups and/or corporate environments (we’re a bit of both!)
