In December 2025, Abaxx demonstrated via pilot that its Digital Title technology can provide a legally enforceable mechanism to instantly mobilize money market fund shares as T+0 collateral, with legal title transferring immediately on margin call, eliminating the insolvency gap present in the rational pledge structures.

Abaxx Digital Title pairs cryptographically secured evidence of ownership with verified identity to convert securities into high-velocity, yield-bearing T+0 instruments, enabling their use as collateral within a regulated clearing framework.

Overview of Transaction

In May 2026, Abaxx and Alta signed a letter of engagement to establish a Singapore-based Variable Capital Company (VCC) umbrella structure with Abaxx Alta MMF as a dedicated sub-fund investing in USD-denominated money market instruments and short-term fixed income securities. 

The sub-fund’s units are structured to: 

• function as T+0 collateral within Abaxx Clearing, with yield continuing to accrue to the original holder, allowing clearing participants to post margin without sacrificing yield.
• Alta serves as the MAS-licensed fund manager for the VCC structure, providing the regulated legal wrapper required for the fund shares to be recognized as collateral within Abaxx Clearing.

Significance of Transaction

• Alta becomes the first integration partner for Abaxx Digital Title’s commercial implementation, a market first in regulated T+0 collateral infrastructure. 
• By structuring MMF shares via live collateral with real-time visibility into sub-fund holdings  across all parties, the Abaxx Alta MMF achieves a level of transparency that is not achievable under the traditional T+1 settlement frameworks.
• The Abaxx Alta MMF model unlocks this capital while preserving yield, addressing a structural gap in global clearing where trillions in collateral sit idle under T+1 cycles, even as initial margin at the top ten clearinghouses exceeds $915bn.

Alta’s Role

Alta acts as the regulated fund manager for the Abaxx Alta MMF, extending Alta’s fund management business into collateral management via money market funds for global partners.

Alta’s integrated platform spans fund management, digital custody, and tokenisation, providing the institutional-grade architecture required for the sub-fund’s units to be recognised as clearing collateral, alongside an established institutional client base across Asia and the GCC.
