We’re Building the Future of Capital Markets; enabling entrepreneurship,
job creation, financial inclusion, and economic resilience

As Asia's leading securities brokerage, regulated exchange and fund management platform for alternative investments, Alta is at the forefront of building critical capital market infrastructure. We believe that access to capital markets are pivotal in all economies, we recognize that our role in building this critical infrastructure goes beyond facilitating trades; it paves the way for entrepreneurship, job creation, financial inclusion, and economic resilience, fostering a brighter future for emerging markets and economies.

Empowering Private Markets: Through our Digital Exchange, we enable the tokenization and digital custody of alternative assets. This end-to-end solution simplifies and expedites the trading of smaller asset blocks, ultimately facilitating access and liquidity in private markets.

Innovative Financial Ecosystem: Our journey has seen us transition from securities trading and distribution of comprehensive products, including equities, private credit, funds, and asset-backed securities (“ABS”) (representing Real World Assets ("RWA") like whiskies, wines, art, watches, and real estate) to include fund management and digital custody services.

Established in 2016 and headquartered in Singapore, Alta operates offices globally. We welcome energetic and creative individuals to be part of this ambitious journey with us.

About The Role

We are looking for a mid-level, driven and analytical investment professional to join our growing team. The successful candidate will support the portfolio management process through research, monitoring, and analysis across listed securities, with a strong emphasis on equity markets. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in equity research, who is looking to broaden their exposure across multi-asset strategies and play a key role in shaping investment ideas and execution.

The candidate will bring strong public market research skills, operational discipline, and a proactive mindset in supporting both investment decisions and execution processes.

Some Of The Key Responsibilities Include

  • Conduct public equity research on global markets with a focus on Asia and US markets, including company-level fundamental analysis, earnings monitoring, and sector outlooks to support investment decisions.
  • Build and maintain financial models (e.g., DCF, comparable) and valuation frameworks for target companies and portfolio holdings.
  • Monitor global macroeconomic trends, geopolitical developments, and market-moving events across asset classes (equities, commodities, derivatives etc.)
  • Generate actionable investment ideas, supported by in-depth analysis and research
  • Assist in portfolio construction and risk management, including monitoring positions, exposures, and performance attribution
  • Support trade execution workflows: placing orders, confirming trades, liaising with brokers, and coordinating with custodians to ensure accurate and timely settlement.
  • Prepare and maintain internal reports and dashboards to track portfolio performance, exposures, and compliance.
  • Assist in preparing materials for quarterly fund reporting, investor updates, and performance attribution analysis.
  • Coordinate with external service providers including fund administrators, custodians, and auditors to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Participate in fund structuring and operational setup for new mandates or VCC sub-funds, including reviewing investment guidelines and operational readiness.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc responsibilities or projects as required to support the investment team and broader business initiatives.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related field; CFA designation or progress toward it is a strong plus
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in public equity research, investment management, or related roles within asset management, private banks, or broker-dealers.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, with ability to synthesize data into clear investment insights.
  • Familiarity with public markets instruments including equities, ETFs, options, and commodities
  • Familiarity with trade execution processes and working with brokers/custodians is essential.
  • Working knowledge of derivatives structuring or commodities trading would be an advantage.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a hands-on and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Mandarin and English fluency (written and spoken) is a must to facilitate cross-border investments and communication with Chinese investors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to contribute across functions when required.
