Innovative Financial Ecosystem: Our journey has seen us transition from securities trading and distribution of comprehensive products, including equities, private credit, funds, and asset-backed securities (“ABS”) (representing Real World Assets ("RWA") like whiskies, wines, art, watches, and real estate) to include fund management and digital custody services.

As the only integrated securities exchange, brokerage, and fund management group with the necessary regulatory licenses and a proven track record in Southeast Asia, we are actively exploring new channels and partnerships to extend our impact to entrepreneurs and investors globally.

About the role:

The sorts of things you’ll be doing:

• Working on one or more of our technical teams as a key contributor to our code base.
• Participating in code reviews within the team to help continuously improve the quality of our code.
• In close conjunction with your manager and mentors, proactively setting and monitoring progress toward your development goals
• Having the opportunity to own your own deliverables, working with business stakeholders and peers on your team from planning through to release
• Work with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Software engineers to build and manage data products and the Alta Data Warehouse
• Collaborate with senior team members for the continued development and improvement of our data warehouse architecture, data pipelines, infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
• Design, develop, and launch extremely efficient and reliable data pipelines.
• You would be working with tools like Dbt, Terraform, GCP, Bigquery, Redshift on a daily basis.

As our Data Engineering intern, we know you’ll be doing significant learning on the job.

That said, we’re hoping from Day 1 you’ll bring:

‍

• Good knowledge of at least one object-oriented and/or functional programming language. We have Python, Javascript and other programming languages in our ecosystem stack but we’re not too picky with what you’ve used before
• Some experience with source control systems like Github or Bitbucket, and how they work within a team
• Basic knowledge of analytical databases, and how they differ from non-relational and relational ones
• The basic principles of APIs
• Some Hands-on Experience in batch/real-time data integration & processing.

Beyond the technology, we also hope you’ve got some interest in:

• Financial services, particularly the investment space
• An appreciation for experimentation and designing systems/processes that accommodate business and technical agility
• Food! We talk about it a lot :)

As a close-knit, social team we generally prefer to work together in person at one of our offices. That said, we provide a flexible working environment that is adaptable to periods of working from home.
